Hyundai has just revealed an all-new Palisade for the 2026 model year. The Korean automaker’s three-row SUV now holds up to nine passengers thanks to a center seat in the front row. It steps up the square styling of the Santa Fe on the outside but becomes much more rounded and soft on the inside.

Hyundai Looks To Keep Its Momentum With Second-Gen Three-Row
The current Palisade has been a smash hit for Hyundai, which was taking a risk by launching a model in a segment well above where it normally competes. The big SUV seems to have gotten even bigger for its second generation, or at least its styling has. The rounder, handsomer Palisade has been replaced by something that looks like it wants a Range Rover level of elegance. Though not the latest generation Range Rover; this looks more like an updated version of the 2003-2012 L322 model.

Hyundai’s new multi-slat grille, along with the matching headlight elements, helps give it that elegance. The rear lights are also a stacked line design, and the forward-angled shiny trim on the rear pillar goes a long way to make this Hyundai look more like a luxury competitor for Genesis.
Things get even more premium on the inside. Hyundai revealed few images, but those they did show a big departure from any of the brand’s current models.
Round edges instead of sharp lines give this an almost 1960s luxury car look inside. Everything seems to be soft and padded. Warm and inviting in place of the futuristic edginess of most modern vehicles.
The Bezel Is Back On The New Soft-Looking Dash
It’s not lagging on tech, though. Dual 12.3-inch screens are integrated into a single panel. They’re now back in the dash instead of sitting proud of the dash panel as in the current model or like the latest Santa Fe’s tech. We can also see three USB-C ports in the center console and a wireless charging slot. Buttons for the climate control remain, and they’re now softly blended into the dash instead of in the center console.

In Korea, at least, the center console will fold up and away. That turns the space into a seat, a feature we haven’t seen in a large crossover since, well, ever. It’s a feature normally reserved for body-on-frame SUVs like the Chevrolet Suburban. It’s not clear if this feature will make it to the US, giving Hyundai a rare nine-seat model, but the Suburban having an available front bench shows that it’s possible.
Hyundai didn’t say what would power the 2026 Palisade. The current SUV has a 3.8-liter V6, while rumor has it that the new model will offer a hybrid system and possibly a turbocharged four-cylinder. Hyundai has already revealed the Ioniq 9 three-row for buyers who want more electrification.
