Your sink will no doubt see a lot of action in a day. You might use it to dump your teabags, or simply use it to wash the dishes throughout the day.
No matter how often you clean it, and especially if you neglect it, stubborn stains can start to build up. This is especially true if you live in a hard water area, as mineral deposits like limescale can start to appear on the surface.
Luckily, one woman has found the best way to remove the build-up with ease thanks to a product which costs around £1.50 in most supermarkets. A cleaning expert at B&S Cleaning Ltd said the Pink Stuff “works absolute wonders” if your sink is covered in dirt and rust, which can often appear on sinks as it’s “constantly wet”.
The cleaning expert showed a sink which was full of “dirt and rust” and explained: “Applying Pink Stuff paste to a sink while it’s dry literally all over, [lifts the dirt] as you’re applying it.”
The cleaning expert explained that they used “part microfibre, part hands with gloves” to make sure they can get into all the “nooks and crannies”. “You can literally see it’s just lifting [the dirt] away”.
For areas you find it hard to reach, such as the plug hole, the cleaning expert recommends using a small brush, such as a toothbrush, to make it easier to reach. They added: “The results are absolutely phenomenal,” and took only around 10 to 15 minutes, and that was only because they were paying “extra attention to detail”.
Once you’ve spread the paste over the whole sink you can either leave it to work its magic, or you can wipe it off with a wet cloth. At the end, you’ll want to go in and “dry and polish”, and you’ll be left with “gorgeous” results.
Many were impressed by the results, with one person saying: “Wow – that’s a great tip. I’ve never used it like that… Sink looks new,” while another wrote: “Pink Stuff is incredible.” A third person commented: “The Pink Stuff is absolutely amazing.”
If you’ve never used The Pink Stuff before, it’s always best to try it on a small, discreet area first, and check the label to see if it’s suitable. The product is a mild abrasive cleaner and should be used with care.
The Pink Stuff website says: “Extra care is needed on delicate or polished surfaces to avoid scratching. If unsure check compatibility on a small inconspicuous area before use as a cleaner”. It’s also not recommended to use the Link Stuff for granite or marble.
