Mitsubishi Is Developing A System For Cheaper Home Charging Rates For Electrified Vehicles

Users must subscribe to a charging plan developed by MC Retail Energy exclusively for this service. They don’t need to purchase additional equipment as the service can be controlled directly from Kaluza’s platform via Mitsubishi Motors’ connected systems.

Mitsubishi Motors and Kaluza began co-developing smart-charging services in February 2023. The joint venture aims to “lower society-wide energy costs and create a more appealing charging environment for EV users.”

So far, the Japanese automaker only has the Outlander PHEV as its electrified model, the current best-selling plug-in hybrid in the world. It is also the only Mitsubishi finding success stateside, accounting for about half of the brand’s US sales.
