Pretty seaside town known for its golden beaches where homes average £115k

Summer is just around the corner which means many Britons will be preparing for trips to the seaside and beach holidays.

However, for some Britons, enjoying a beach holiday a couple of times a year isn’t enough. Relocating to the coast means Britons can spend the summer soaking in the sun while enjoying all the delights the seaside has to offer.

Brisk beach walks, tucking into fish and chips by the sea and being woken up by seagulls are just some of the many reasons why you should move to the seaside.

With this in mind, property experts at GetAgent delved into the data from their annual Sellers Report to find out which seaside towns in the UK are the most expensive and the most affordable.

Saltcoats, in North Ayrshire, Scotland was named the most affordable location in the UK, with homes on average costing buyers just £114,969.

The small, historic harbour dates back to the late 17th century and at low tide, residents can see fossilised trees across the harbour floor.

Irvine Bay, which is further along the coast, is particularly popular with tourists thanks to its 14-mile stretch of sandy coastline and various attractions.

Popular attractions in Saltcoats include a cinema, bowling, amusements, the Arti Farti Gallery and the town trail.

The second most affordable seaside town in the UK was Seaton Carew, in the North East of England which was followed by Blackpool in third place.
