Sony slashes the price of the PS5 Slim to its lowest price ever | Gaming | Entertainment

If you have been waiting for a significant price cut on the PS5 – now might be your chance to jump on this price cut thanks to Sony.

Sony has slashed the price of the PS5 Slim for the first time ever – you can now get £60 off the new(ish) console from £479 to £419.

Sony has been hesitant to slash the price of the slimmer console since its release in November 2023 but it seems that the company is looking to get more eyes and hands on what is the most popular console in the UK.

It also comes as there is set to be a slew of great games releasing including Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in February so if you have been waiting for a good time to pick up a console – this price cut might be a good time to act.

And if you have been looking for a good deal, we have a roundup of the best PS5 deals so that you can find the best prices.

The newest PS5 Slim console came out at the end of last year and trimmed the weight of the original PS5 by 24 per cent and it also reduced its size, making it much easier to fit in your home.

In terms of power, you don’t need to worry about the smaller PS5 being less powerful as you’ll still be able to play all your favourite games at the same framerates as the older PS5. You’ll still be able to enjoy a whole variety of games such as God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Horizon: Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank and more.

The good news about this version of the PS5 is that it comes with a disc tray attached compared to the cheaper £399 digital version but this price cut might be the better option.
