Toyota Launches TRD Parts for GR Yaris, Lottery For WRC Special Editions

Key Takeaways

  • The 2024 Toyota GR Yaris will have available TRD parts for enhanced performance and style as order books open on April 8.
  • New carbon fiber accents, wheels, side skirts, and a rear diffuser are among the offerings.
  • Limited WRC special editions of the GR Yaris are also available, but only through a lottery.

The 2024 Toyota GR Yaris will be available with a lineup of TRD goodies when it goes on sale on April 8 in Japan. These parts improve the performance of this already hot hatch and give it an extra dose of style inside and out. Although the GR Yaris isn’t available in the US, fingers crossed these parts find their way here for the GR Corolla.

Up front, there’s a more aggressive splitter. This reduces the downforce over the front axle of the GR Yaris. There are also unique side skirts and a bold new rear diffuser. It looks fantastic, but it is functional, again increasing downforce. A new rear lip spoiler and shrouds on the side windows are also among the offerings.

Carbon Fiber Everything

The GR Yaris gets a new wheel design with 18-inch forged aluminum rims that include 15 silver and black spokes. If that’s not fancy enough for you, then add a little color with optional red and black strips for the sides of the car. Among the things you can’t see are new front and rear stabilizing dampers and GR brake pads designed to improve track performance without any sacrifice on the street.

Inside, there’s plenty of opportunity to add extra appeal, although here it doesn’t really do anything other than look good. Multiple carbon fiber accents are available, including trim for the dashboard, air vents, and door handles. And you can even get a carbon fiber frame for the license plate.

WRC Special Editions

If you want something truly exclusive, Toyota is accepting applications for Sebastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanpera WRC Driver special editions. These limited run versions of the GR Yaris are only available through a lottery that runs through March 31. Winners will be notified on April 18 with delivers soon to follow.

The Toyota GR Yaris, including the special editions, is only available in Japan. We’ll have to be content with the GR Supra or GR Corolla. Order books open on April 8 with pricing from roughly $29,500 to $32,800 when equipped with the 6-speed manual. Those numbers increase for the new 8-speed automatic, which runs from $31,900 to $35,200.
