There’s nothing better than looking out of sparkling, well-cared-for windows.
When your windows are clean, they can make your whole home look better as they allow natural light to flood in.
Clean windows can also make your home look bigger, brighter and more open which is particularly helpful for homeowners looking to sell their properties.
To help you keep your windows looking as good as new all year round, the experts from RW4Y share their essential cleaning tips.
The experts said it’s important to make window cleaning a part of your housekeeping routine so they stay sparkling clean.
Rather than using expensive, pungent window cleaning products, the experts recommended a simple homemade solution.
Sarah Hastings, digital and marketing manager at RW4Y said: “You can make your own window cleaning solution by combining one part vinegar with one part warm water in a spray bottle.
“If you’re tackling particularly tricky areas, you can also add a drop of washing-up liquid which will cut through dirt and grease.
“Once clean, be sure to wipe your windows dry with a clean microfibre cloth for a streak-free shine.
“For best results, swipe in horizontal or vertical motions instead of circles, to prevent streaks.”
White vinegar can be bought online or from most local supermarkets.
Tesco distilled vinegar can be bought for 35p and Sainsbury’s white vinegar costs 40p.
The reason white vinegar is great for cleaning windows is because it is highly acidic in nature which means it can cut through grime, stains and dirt.
White vinegar can also leave a streak-free shine on windows, especially when used in conjunction with a microfibre cloth.
