The first sports EV on our list is the Porsche Taycan. We’ll get to some more thrilling versions later, but even at its entry level, the Taycan is an excellent sports car with four doors. It handles much better than the average large electric four-door car, yet remains comfortable for four people. The most basic Taycan for the 2025 model year starts at $99,400, which gets you 402 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque sent to the rear wheels from an electric motor. This RWD version can sprint from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, and Porsche says it’ll reach a top speed of 143 mph on summer tires.

While most of the best electric sports cars are ridiculously expensive, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is relatively affordable for the performance it provides. Hyundai’s electric cars are industry-leading, and the N trims of those EVs top the lineup with even more power, quicker launches, and superb handling. The current Ioniq 5 N starts at $66,200, which is great, even compared to rivals. It usually operates at 601 horsepower, but that can be increased to 641 hp and 568 lb-ft at the press of a button in N Grin Boost mode for a short sprint. That means it’s capable of a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds.

Porsche’s electric sports car is available in a few trims, and the rapid Taycan Turbo is one of the quickest versions. If it wasn’t for a certain open-top two-seater we’ll get to later, this would be the most expensive option on the list. This isn’t even the craziest version of the Taycan, either. This Porsche can be a quiet electric ride as you leave your neighborhood in the early mornings, but it has enough power to keep up with some serious sports cars. For a base price of $173,600, you can get your hands on 871 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque that’ll send you from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.

With the exception of a couple of other electric performance cars on our list, the Audi RS e-Tron GT has more power than most common EVs. This all-electric monster combines Audi’s luxury, modern features and equipment, and performance to make the top-of-the-line e-Tron. Of course, being the best version of the e-Tron line comes at a hefty price; Audi priced the e-Tron GT at $167,000 before destination and other fees. However, it’s powered by an electric motor for each axle that drives all four wheels with 912 horsepower when launch control is active. The most powerful Audi ever will hit 60 mph in a mere 2.4 seconds.

Lotus hasn’t announced too many details about the Emeya four-door electric sports car just yet, but it’s shaping up as one sweet ride. So far, we know that it’s the fastest-charging electric vehicle ever; it can charge from 10% to 80% in just fourteen minutes. Its price is still under wraps, and so is a release date, but we know quite a few specs for various trims. At the base level, it’ll have 603 horsepower and sprint from 0-62 mph in 4.15 seconds, but the top trim level, the Emeya S, will have 905 horsepower and launch to 62 mph from a dig in about 2.78 seconds. That version can also reach 159 miles per hour at the top end.

Pininfarina B95
One of the coolest electric sports cars coming out of Italy is the Automobili Pininfarina B95. It’s made of unobtanium for the vast majority of humanity, but for those who can get their hands on one—do it. What was once a wild concept, designed to showcase the future of electric cars, is now reality. The unfortunate reality of it, though, is that it costs just shy of $5 million. Nevertheless, it’s certain to put rivals like the Rimac Nevera and Ferrari SP1 in their places with 1,900 horsepower that’ll launch it from 0-60 miles per hour in under two seconds, and quickly reach a top speed of over 186 mph.

While the RS e-tron GT Performance is the top-of-the-line model, another great choice in the lineup of electric sports cars is the Audi S e-tron GT, and you’ll still be happy with the comfort and performance it provides. This model starts at $125,500 before destination charges and fees. It comes standard with dual motors for all-wheel drive, and makes 583 horsepower. However, it gets up to 670 hp in boost mode. Audi claims this version can sprint from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, and reach a top speed of 152 miles per hour. The EPA estimates this version of the e-tron GT can drive up to 300 miles on a full charge, which is more practical than the RS model’s range.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore isn’t on sale yet, but it’s shaping up to be an impressive all-electric drop-top sports car. Starting at $205,000, only the well-heeled can afford this Italian EV sport car. We can confirm, though, that the GranCabrio Folgore will have three electric motors that are capable of producing up to 751 hp combined, or 818 hp for short bursts. We can also assume a blisteringly quick 0-60 time of about 2.7 seconds, and a top speed reaching 180 mph. While nothing is confirmed yet about what this EV’s range will be, Maserati estimates between 260 and 277 miles.

As one of only a handful of cars on this list that can drive over 200 miles per hour, it’s important to note how Lucid Motors claims a top speed of 205 mph, making the Air Sapphire officially the fastest four-door. With three electric motors and all-wheel drive, the Air Sapphire is firmly planted to transfer 1,234 horsepower and 1,430 lb-ft of torque to the ground through a single-speed automatic transmission. With that much power, it can also launch from 0-60 in a claimed 1.89 seconds.
