Chevrolet Corvette C8 Gets Ultra-Exclusive 1,000-HP Upgrade

Key Takeaways

  • Specialty Vehicle Engineering introduces Yenko/SC Corvette C8 with 1,000 horsepower.
  • The LT2 V8 has been equipped with new turbochargers, a steel crankshaft, a custom intake manifold, and more.
  • Limited production run, with ten planned for MY2024 and an additional 50 for MY2025.

Specialty Vehicle Engineering has transformed the C8 Corvette Stingray into a supercar-destroying machine with 1,000 horsepower. Dubbed the Yenko/SC Corvette C8, the crazy creation has more than double the stock car’s output, so how has the tuner extracted these figures from the LT2 motor?

For starters, the 6.2-liter V8 is equipped with ceramic ball-bearing water-cooled turbochargers, forged H-beam rods, a steel crankshaft, and 2618 aluminum pistons. The motor also benefits from CNC-ported high-flow cylinder heads with an improved valvetrain, a custom intercooled intake manifold, a new ground camshaft, and custom valve covers with oil separators. These upgrades make the Yenko/SC even more powerful than Lingenfelter’s supercharged E-Ray.

LT2 V8 Receives Plenty Of Updates

The transmission receives an upgraded dual-clutch unit, while the fuel systems have also been improved. The LT2 V8 now sings through new exhaust tips, providing an even fruitier exhaust note. Unfortunately, SVE has not shared updated performance details. The standard Corvette with 490 hp has a top speed of 194 mph and a 0-60 mph sprint time of three seconds. It’s safe to assume the Yenko/SC will be considerably quicker.

Other than the mechanical upgrades, Specialty Vehicle Engineering offers several exterior and interior upgrades. Customers can choose from 14 factory paint colors and nine additional colors with optional carbon fiber trim. Side and hood graphics can also be specified in different colors. The tuner will even match the decals to the Vette’s brake calipers, which are painted red as standard. The staggered forged wheels (19s up front and 20s at the rear) are wrapped in Nitto Summer Ultra High-Performance tires.

Subtle Interior And Exterior Updates

Aside from that, the Vette looks stock, making it somewhat of a sleeper. Unassuming passers-by will expect it to be quick, but not 1,000-hp quick. Inside, you’ll find SYC logos embroidered on the front headrests and custom floormats with embroidery. Unique door sill plates and a plaque with the build number round out the interior changes. The tuner has not shared any images of the cabin.

Every C8 Chevrolet Corvette Model Ranked By Its Quarter-Mile Time

The Corvette is the pinnacle of Chevrolet performance, so let’s rank each current C8 generation model in terms of quarter-mile runs.

It will be a very exclusive motor car, with Specialty Vehicle Engineering planning to introduce just ten examples for 2024 and an additional 50 for MY2025. The package costs $99,995, and that doesn’t include the donor car or any SVE options. That means you’re looking at spending at least $168,295 – considerably more than a Z06 or E-Ray. SVE offers obscene packages for Chevy products; it introduced a Yenko/SC Silverado 1500 with 800 hp last year.
