Toilet limescale is a build-up of calcium and magnesium from hard water which can be difficult to remove.
If left untreated, limescale can harden and lead to plumbing issues as well as being unsightly.
Luckily, cleaning fanatics have taken to social media to share their top tips for banishing the problem.
Taking to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, Lucy Robinson wrote: “I’ve tried scrubbing my toilet with bleach and some other household cleaners, but no change.
“Would anyone be able to help me? The limescale is awful.”
The post, along with a photo of the stained toilet, attracted more than 100 comments.
Laura Carter said: “Black Harpic is really good if you leave it on overnight.”
This comment received 58 likes as well as reactions with other people also recommending the product.
Lisa Evans commented: “The bottle of black Harpic will make limescale disappear overnight.”

Harpic Power Plus Regular Toilet Cleaner Gel can be picked up from various supermarkets including Sainsbury’s for £1.50.

If looking for a more natural solution, many comments recommended white vinegar.
Its acetic acid content helps to target stubborn limescale whilst also not damaging the toilet.
It may take a while to see results, but can be picked up cheaply for less than 50p a bottle.
