Buick is no longer the brand you think of when you envision retirees (pardon the pun), and the latest spate of updated Buick products have proven to be more youthful, more tech-forward, and more attractive than ever before. With the recent reveal of the 2025 Buick Enclave, the Buick lineup is proving to be a solid contender. The 2025 Enclave comes with Wildcat-inspired styling, slightly larger proportions, loads more tech features, available Super Cruise, and a new 2.5-liter engine with 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. Here’s a first look at the latest three-row from the tri-shield brand, which effectively completes the overhaul of the brand’s ICE portfolio.

When Is The 2025 Buick Enclave Coming Out?

The release date for the 2025 Buick Enclave is expected to be later this year since the automaker says ordering will commence in summer 2024. We suspect it’ll arrive at dealerships in the USA at the tail end of the year.

2025 Buick Enclave Estimated Price and Competition

Along with some key specs, the MSRP of the new Enclave hasn’t been made public yet. With such a significant update, however, it stands to reason that there will be an increase over what current models cost. Since 2024 Enclaves go on sale for around $43,900 at the entry point of the range and top out at around $60k for a top-end AWD model, we expect the price of the 2025 Buick Enclave to start at around $46k and exceed $65k before options on the Avenir trim. The lineup also sees a bit of a reshuffle with Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir trims on the cards.

The timing of the Enclave’s release is good, since the Acura MDX, one of its main rivals, has also been subject to large-scale updates for the 2025 model year. The newest MDX promises to be loaded with tech while offering a sporty Type S trim, which the Enclave doesn’t have. Still, the Buick SUV is leaning more toward premiumness, so buyers may also cross shop with the Infiniti QX60 which now costs around $50k for a base model but offers up a sublime interior, loads of standard features, and good safety credentials.

New Buick Enclave Exterior and Colors

Most noticeable about the updated Enclave is the exterior changes Buick has made. The flagship SUV no longer looks dreary and instead is aligned with the contemporary looks of its Envision and Envista siblings; the new design is the fulfilment of Buick’s promise to deliver aesthetic excellence in all its new models and boasts the new take on the brand’s identifying badging.

The Enclave’s grille has been completely restyled along with the front and rear fascias. It is no longer shield-shaped but instead comprises a broad, rectangular gaping grille underscored by a lower intake and flanked by the signature winged lighting and checkmark LED headlamps. At the rear, you’ll find full-width LED taillights, and on Avenir models, a walk-up lighting animation is standard. The top trim also gets a panoramic sunroof as standard.

20-inch wheels will be equipped to the base trims, while the Avenir gets 22-inch model-specific wheels in a Pearl Nickle finish. The Sport Touring (ST) sets itself apart from other models with gloss black accents on the grille, window surrounds, and exterior mirrors. Buick doesn’t highlight what exterior colors will be available for the new Enclave.

The new Buick Enclave is longer and taller than the outgoing model, and will also need a few more inches of door-opening space in the garage. The manufacturer hasn’t shared the dimensions of the 2025 Buick Enclave, save for saying it’s bigger in almost every metric. For reference, the 2024 models measure 204.8 inches in length, 78.8 inches in width without mirrors, and stand just under 70 inches tall. The wheelbase is 120.9 inches on the outgoing model.

Curb weights are likely to differ based on the change in proportions and the addition of new equipment. Expect 2025 Enclaves to weigh more than the outgoing model’s maximum 4,469 pounds of curb weight.

Another major change for the Enclave is the replacement of its 3.6-liter V6 engine with a new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. This is the same engine found in the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia, where it puts out the same 328 hp and 326 lb-ft. Those figures are an improvement over the V6’s specs, as seen in the comparison below:

Despite a rather significant bump in torque, the Enclave can still only tow 5,000 lbs.

Estimated Gas Mileage

There’s no official word on gas mileage figures for the 2025 Buick Enclave, and neither of its corporate cousins has been rated by the EPA either, but we’re certainly going to see an improvement on the fuel economy ratings from 2024 models. The outgoing V6-powered Enclave managed just 18/26/21 mpg in FWD and 17/25/20 mpg with AWD. These figures were not competitive, and the automaker will want to improve on that.

Buick Enclave Interior and Cargo

If the exterior changes are substantial, the interior improvements to the Buick Enclave are even more so. Not to mention the overall look and feel, but it’s also more roomy in there thanks to the car’s larger dimensions for 2025. Most obvious, however, is the newly designed dashboard and floating center console, which brings a previously dated cabin into the modern world. Designers have made good use of the space and there’s an airy look to the cabin for an “open ride experience”. The console also offers more functional storage, a multi controller, and two cupholders.

The clean design is appealing, and atop the dash sits a 30-inch ultra-wide display that takes care of both the driver’s information cluster and infotainment. Like on the Envision and Evista, this is the largest screen in the class. The infotainment system is also more intuitive than before and can be controlled via the touchscreen or Google Assistant. Standard interior features include:

  • Wireless charging
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Customizable multicolor ambient lighting
  • Power liftgate with auto-sense
  • Powered, heated front-row seats with lumbar support
  • 12-speaker Bose sound system on lower trims
  • 16-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system on Avenir

Avenir models get added ventilation for the front seats along with massage functionality, and heating for the second row perches. Importantly, the new Enclave will be the first Buick to offer GM’s Super Cruise, which it markets as the first true hands-free advanced driver assist system, and it’ll be available on all trim levels. The latest Enclave has more safety features overall, and now comes standard across the lineup with:

  • Blind zone steering assist
  • Intersection automatic emergency braking
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Lane keep assist and lane departure warning

Avenir models also get a head-up display, a rearview camera, and power-folding second- and third-row seats to make it easier to access the cargo hold. Exact figures for how much the Buick Enclave can carry behind its seats are yet to be released, but we expect cargo volume to improve over the outgoing Enclave.
