Mitsubishi Prices Just One Trim Of The Refreshed 2025 Outlander

For 2025, Mitsubishi is giving its most popular model an extensive refresh to help make sure it stays in that position. Along with the new interior and exterior styling, upgraded cabin materials, and available Yamaha audio systems, the new Outlander comes with a new price. For 2025, the brand’s flagship starts from $29,645, $1,250 more than the base price last year.

Normally, this is where we show and tell you what Mitsubishi is giving you for the extra money with the worked-over model, but this time, we can’t. Mitsubishi is rolling out this Outlander in a very strange manner, announcing pricing before we’ve even seen the new model.

Only The Starting Price Announced Today

Equally unusually, Mitsubishi has only announced the pricing for the basic ES front-wheel drive trim. The 2024 Outlander offers seven other trim levels (plus optional AWD on most), and while we don’t think every variant will be back, that’s a lot of missing lineup.

Here is what we do know: The 2025 Outlander will be quieter inside than the 2024, thanks to more sound deadening and similar changes. It should also deliver a better ride because Mitsubishi has gone through the suspension, replacing springs, shocks, and sway bars, to update that part of the experience.

The Outlander Plug-In Hybrid ‘Night Shade’ concept is inspired by the hit videogame, but is it as fun?

There will be a revised grille and some small changes to the headlights on the outside. The center console moves the cup holders from being side by side at the base of the console to an over-under stack closer to the base of the dash. It looks like this shrinks the cubby at the base of the dash, but we’d need a closer look to be sure.

Yamaha audio is new, with Mitsubishi replacing the Bose audio system it used last year. If you’re not a fan of Bose, this is great news. Mitsubishi’s information suggests that Yamaha audio will be standard on every 2025 Outlander, and if it is, there will be a version with more speakers and more power on top-spec versions.

The Full Refresh Launches Later This Month

Mitsubishi hasn’t mentioned the 2.5-liter four-cylinder and its 181 horsepower in any of its teasers, leading us to believe that the engine will be the same in 2025. We’ll find out soon enough, though, as Mitsubishi plans the full reveal of the model on February 24, when it will also announce full-line pricing. We’ve estimated pricing for the other trims we expect at launch to give you an idea of what to expect.

It’s also important to note that these changes cover only the gas-engine 2025 Outlander. The Outlander PHEV was unchanged for 2025 and has been on sale for a few months. The changes Mitsubishi made to the standard version for 2025 will probably hit the PHEV for model year 2026.
