The Paris Motor Show kicks off today, and Mini is using the event to host the global reveal of the first-ever electric John Cooper Works models based on the Cooper Electric and the Aceman. Both models generate a total of 255 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, enabling 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds on the former and 6.4 seconds on the latter. Both models have a top speed of up to 124 mph.
Like the SE trims of those cars, the JCW models use a 54.2 kWh battery. In the new arrivals, it delivers up to 230 miles of range on the JCW Cooper Electric and 220 miles on the JCW Aceman. These numbers were calculated using the WLTP cycle, which is more generous than America’s EPA testing.

Sporty Styling
As a JCW Mini, Chili Red accents abound, with the vibrant hue appearing on the front air curtain intakes, the roof, the brake calipers, and the mirror caps. John Cooper Works logos in red, white, and black appear on the front grille panels of each vehicle, and this motif is projected from the mirrors onto the ground on opening either car. Chunky side skirts have also been fitted, while the rear of each car features an aerodynamically optimized roof spoiler with extension slats to help clean the turbulent airflow near the rear hatch.

A large diffuser and a pair of red reflectors also appear on each vehicle, with the JCW Electric hatch wearing 18-wheels and the JCW Aceman getting 19s. With distinctive fascias front and rear, as well as that trademark green hue, it should be easy enough to tell the JCWs apart from the regular siblings, and we like the fact that these EVs don’t look much different from Mini’s combustion offerings, such as the recently revealed 2025 Cooper Convertible.
Interior And Tech
A neat, exclusive feature is that the ambient lighting system extends to the panoramic roof, and there’s also a continuation of the red-and-black theme in the JCW models, with black synthetic leather paired with multicolored knitted fabric and red contrast stitching. The 9.44-inch (diameter) central OLED screen with BMW OS9 controls all major functions, with only a small head-up display adding to the driver’s perspective. Happily, physical knobs, switches, and levers appear in the dashboard and on the thick-rimmed steering wheel, which features a boost paddle that temporarily avails the driver of an additional 27 hp for overtaking.
